Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing in Scotland Mobile Testing Units
(MTUs) will be located in towns across Scotland for short periods of time.
Testing is for people who are symptomatic and over the age of 5 years old, as well as household members of those experiencing symptoms.
Tests can be booked through the UK Government’s on-line system if you are a key worker or live with one. https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
If you're not a keyworker, you can book a test through the NHS website. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
If you cannot access the online booking portal then please call 0300 303 2713.
There are also a limited number of home testing kits available for those who cannot make it to a testing site. Testing priority will continue to be given to those who are key workers, and can be secured by booking through an employer.
For more information on testing visit https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested/
The current guideline for symptoms now include:
A new continuous cough
A fever
Anosmia (a loss or changed sense of normal smell or taste)
Individuals will need to self-isolate immediately if they develop any of the above symptoms. All members of their household must also self-isolate according to current guidelines, unless the symptomatic individual receives a negative test result.

We are a caring community. Here are a few ways you can support your village by being good neighbours:
• Keep your distance. Stay 2 meters away and avoid touching shared surfaces
• Make sure you have a phone number for your neighbours now in case they or you are quarantined
• Phone regularly to check how they are doing
• Offer to help with picking up shopping, library books and prescriptions
• Help them set up video calling (SKYPE, FaceTime etc.) to speak to distant family
• Share trusted information from official sources, if they do not use technology
• Offer to cook and deliver meals
• Send a card/ deliver flowers
• Smile and wave as you pass house
• If you are elderly or have underlying health issues please do not put yourself at risk but chose another way to support your neighbours – for example by phone.
• Support our local businesses if you can. Many of them already offer a food delivery service
• It is a worrying time for everyone, try to stay calm and be supportive to those affected. There are some tips on mentalhealth.org.uk which will help you look after your mental health at a time when there is a lot of discussion of potential threat to our physical health
Let’s all be POSITIVE & pull together during this challenging time.

A BIG thank you to the Clyde Wind Farm Fund, who have made emergency funding available to help us through the pandemic.
They're covering:
1/ Resources co-ordinating volunteers and fuel costs for local deliveries of food, prescriptions and more, massively reducing the risk of having multiple people making the same trips
2/ An Abington Store part-time worker to keep them open after a 50% drop in takings, preventing people having to go to Biggar/Lanark for services like the Post Office, electricity top-ups etc as well as the local grocery delivery service
3/ Face masks for our area, and associated stores/doctors just outside that our villages use, being 3D printed by Abington volunteers to NHS specifications
4/ Resources linking Duneaton residents into national and South Lanarkshire Council aid programmes, ensuring the different needs of rural communities aren't forgotten
